Lao National Unexploded Ordnance Programme (UXO Lao) and Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) successfully completed on-the-job-training on theme: “Information Management and Quality Management” under the Third Phase of South-South Cooperation Programme supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The online training was held through webinar platform (zoom) with 30 participants attended (6 female), including 15 participants from UXO Lao and 15 participants from CMAC who are core persons working in Information Management and Quality Management sections/units in headquarters and provincial offices. This online training was carried out for 2 weeks, the first week took place from 8 – 12 November 2021 and the second week was taking place between 22 and 26 November 2021. The themes of exchange program focused on information management and quality management detailing data collection, data entry, data flow, Arc GIS application, data sharing, monthly progress report, IT system management, quality assurance, quality control and post clearance impact assessment.

The online training was completed in the morning of 26 November 2021, and the closing ceremony was held on the same day in afternoon time, chaired and co-chaired by Mr. Bounphamith Somvichith, National Programme Director of UXO Lao and H.E. Mr. Oum Phumro, Deputy Director General of CMAC and Mr. Yusuke Kubo represent JICA Lao Office in Lao PDR. This exchange program will bring significant benefit to both UXO Lao and CMAC to further develop and strengthen operational capacity on mine/uxo action for both organizations.
