On 22 November 2025, the 2nd Technical Working Group Meeting under the UXO Lao–JICA Project Title “The Project for Human Resource Development to Strengthen Organizational Capacity of UXO Lao” was convened in Paksan District, Bolikhamxay Province, chaired by Mr. Anousak Phongsa, National Programme Director (NPD) of UXO Lao, and Mr. Daisuke Sagiya, Chief Advisor of the UXO Lao-JICA project.

The meeting brought together participants from UXO Lao Headquarters Office and nine UXO Lao provincial offices. The meeting focused on the draft Strategic Plan, which was developed based on the concept note, questionnaire findings (responses collected from nine provincial offices and units at the headquarters), and lessons learned from the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC), in close collaboration between JICA and UXO Lao.

The meeting’s objective was to gather feedback, exchange ideas, and collaboratively refine the draft Strategic Plan by incorporating crucial inputs from the provincial offices and headquarters. The discussions, including the group discussions, were highly active and constructive, demonstrating the strong commitment of all participants to strengthening the project’s direction and improving future implementation.
