On February 20, 2024, UXO Lao teams in Savannakhet province completed the destruction of a large aerial bomb-MK82 500lb, which located near the center of urban areas (Sonemixay village), Sepon district, Savannakhet province, which had to evacuate the people of 4,274 within 6 villages. The destruction of the bomb was well accomplished in accordance with the planned and technical aspect and with cooperation of all parties involved from district, provincial and central levels.

UXO Lao expressed its deep esteem to all central and local authorities as well as the people for providing guidance and well cooperation. Also, expressed its appreciation to all staff of UXO Lao Savannakhet who attentively followed their professional duties and set out to make the destruction of this bomb safe.
