On September 23, 2025, UXO Lao welcomed H.E. Mrs. Heather Variava, Ambassador of the United States to the Lao PDR and her delegation to the construction site of a new UXO Lao Luang Prabang Provincial Office which is funded by the U.S. Government through Tetra Tech.

The U.S. Government is supporting UXO Lao operations in six provinces including Luang Prabang, Huaphan, Khammuane, Savannakhet, Salavan and Attapeu as well as UXO Lao Headquarters Office in Vientiane Capital.

In 2024, with financial assistance for facility improvements from the U.S. Government, UXO Lao completed the construction of a new provincial office in Khammuane and staff accommodation in Savannakhet province. In 2025, with additional funding support from the U.S. Government, UXO Lao is able to carry on facility improvements for other provinces. These include the construction of new provincial offices in Luang Prabang, Huaphan and Salavan as well as improvement of accommodation and other facilities in six U.S. funded provinces.

UXO Lao expresses gratitude to the U.S Government for the ongoing support of field operations and for improving the working and living environment for staff who are putting in a lot of effort to address the problem of unexploded ordnance contamination in Lao PDR.
